Fellows: About the System The Fellow System
Background
With the discovery of new areas, traders on the Silkroad entered a Golden Age — but more powerful monsters also meant higher risk. To manage that risk, the Merchants Association began selling new products that ensure safety from the threat of monsters. These products were none other than the new pets, the so-called “Fellows”, which came with special powers through advanced training. With abilities that surpass those of the previous pets, Fellows are powerful and dependable companions that assist you in many ways, including combat.
Features
- Fellows assist their master and attack the designated target, and can also be used as mounts their masters can ride.
- They exercise judgment and use preset skills automatically.
- There are Attack, Defensive and Buff Fellows — you can choose the type that suits your preference.
- There are also designated Fellow items that enhance their powers or grant special abilities such as SP storage.
Acquiring and Summoning Fellows
- Fellows can be acquired in two ways: purchase a Fellow summon scroll at the Item Mall, or evolve a pet you already own.
- To evolve your pet, speak with a Stable NPC in one of the towns with a Potion of Evolution.
- Right-click the summon scroll in your inventory to summon the Fellow.
Dismiss
- When a Fellow is dismissed it returns to its item form and goes back to your inventory. Type '/dismiss' in the chat window or click the dismiss icon (shortcut: PgUp).
- Once dead, a Fellow cannot be summoned — it must be revived with a Stone of Resurrection first.
- A Fellow cannot be dismissed while in combat or while the player is dead. With Free PvP enabled (cape equipped) the summoned Fellow is dismissed and cannot be re-summoned until Free PvP is disabled.
Generate Name
Fellows can be named as you prefer; once entered, the name cannot be altered. However, the Naming Scroll resets the name (purchasable at the Item Mall).
EXP / Fellow Info
- Fellows gain EXP through hunting. This is separate from the player's EXP and does not affect it in any way.
- A Fellow's rate of growth is faster than its master's, but its level cannot exceed the master's.
- From level 10 and up, a Fellow's death results in the loss of EXP — but its level is not reduced.
- Fellows possess unique skills according to their type and can be equipped with items. Their items and skills are viewed under the Items and Skills tabs of the Fellow Info window.
Satiety
Satiety is the energy a Fellow needs for its actions, separate from its HP. Maximum satiety differs per Fellow. It decreases as time passes and when skills are used. At 0 satiety no EXP is gained, and the satiety level can either enhance or diminish the Fellow's powers. Satiety is recharged with Feed Sacks.
| Satiety level | Effect |
|---|---|
| %70 or higher | The Fellow is as powerful as a Fellow 10 levels higher in its normal state. |
| %30 or lower | The Fellow is as powerful as a Fellow 10 levels lower in its normal state. |
Special nutrients preserve satiety at 100% for a time — 1 day, 7 days or 30 days depending on the type. Purchasable at the Item Mall.
Recovery / Resurrection
- A Fellow's HP is restored with Water of Life, purchasable at item shops; Enhanced Water of Life is obtained by hunting monsters.
- A dead Fellow is resurrected with a Stone of Resurrection; the level bracket determines which type is used. These stones are purchased at shops.
Giving Orders
You can issue orders to your Fellow: type the order in the chat window, click the icon, or press the shortcut key.
Level Transfer
A Fellow can transfer its level to another Fellow. This requires the Magic Stone of Transfer from the Item Mall. Speak to a Stable NPC in town, select Level Transfer and use the stone. The window has three slots: the Magic Stone of Transfer, the source Fellow and the target Fellow. After the transfer the source Fellow's level becomes 1 and the EXP of both Fellows is reset.
Pet Evolution
You can obtain a Fellow by evolving your growth pet. This requires the Potion of Evolution from the Item Mall; speak with a Stable NPC to begin. You choose one of the Attack, Defensive or Buff types. During evolution only the level is retained and the EXP is reset.
